Cute concept, but the train is very difficult for even an adult to push along the track. Also, it's not a very engaging story. Which may be fine for the Littles. The pictures are pretty though.
This train book is super cute, in theory. Maybe it would work great for an older kid. I bought it for my son’s train-themed 2nd birthday party. We used it as a “guest book†of sorts, and then gave it to him afterwards. He pulled the train out of the “track†in seconds. He also pulled apart 2 pages that seem to be taped together where the “track†runs through the middle. The book also doesn’t have much of a story, just a few words on each page about the landscape. I felt like it should have been a lot better quality and book in general for the price.
I love the idea of this book. Love it! And my train-loving kiddo was excited for it too, when opened for Christmas. In execution, however... Very disappointed. The little train doesn't slide smoothly from page to page, which means my child ended up yanking it out within 10 minutes of opening it. Attempts to repair it didn't work, though it was usable for a few more days. Then the glue holding the pages together started to fall apart. All in all, an absolute waste.
The concept of this book is great however, the book is poorly made. I used it this morning for the first time and the pages ripped immediately and the train came off the tracks and it is difficult to get it back on. When the train is on the tracks it is difficult for me to move along never mind a toddler. I am a mother of four and a grandmother of 3 grandsons, ages 2, 2, and 4. This book looked like it would be great but don't buy it. I feel like throwing it in the trash it is a real pain to try to use it with a toddler. Two of my grandsons are obsessed with trains, too bad!! The other train book I bought along with this one was great.
This book is a great idea, but I doubt it will stand the test of time in a toddler's hands. The train comes off the tracks constantly, it's hard to put back on them, and even though the board pages are quite thick, I already started seeing little rips from putting the train on an off the tracks.
VERY disappointed in this book. The first time that we drove the train on the track, the book ripped. The train doesn't stay on the track and the pages are thin and flimsy. I expected more for the price. Will NEVER buy any books by this author again. My grandson LOVES trains and I was so excited to get this for his 3 hour road trip. It lasted a few minutes then we ended up throwing it away. Great idea but POOR QUALITY.
Love this book! Beautiful illustrations with engaging poetry and a brilliant concept. My students couldn't wait to "explore" the pages with the train on their own and now all of my colleagues want to borrow Train for their class!
This book is adorable and a really brilliant concept. The train stays on tracks from page to page. The only issue is that it's not super durable. My 2 year old has been a little rough with it so I'm not sure how long it will be functional.
