This is an EXCELLENT study guide book for the OT Books of Ezra, Haggai and Zechariah. Dr Wiersbe does a magnificent job of joining scores of other supporting scriptures so that, at the end, I had an exhaustive lesson on just how much history is "His Story." The linkage of scripture and that linkage is explained by Dr Wiersbe was just so interesting, educational and uplifting for me. These times try our souls. Dr Wiersbe's work explains the what, why and how, supported by scripture. The men's group that I belong to has now done 6 of Dr Wiersbe's "BE" series books. We're shortly going to take on another. Dr Wiersbe has taken his gift and shared it with us who seek to increase our faith and understand our God, Our Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Caution, if you decided to review all the scriptural reference verses in the chapters, you must be patient in your reading. They are exhaustive, but add SO much to the study.
I love Warren Wiersbe and his books but this one is very misleading. It says it's a commentary on the minor prophets which makes it sound like all 12. It only covers three prophets: Ezra, Haggai, and Zachariah. Last I checked Ezra is not a minor prophet which means the book only covers two. I'm disappointed that it's not all 12 but it's good anyway.
We are using this study guide in our Sunday School class now. Even though it's on three prophets from the old testament, it is speaking to specific issues we face in our society today. We had prayed about what we should study next, and at first I wasn't sure we had selected the topic the Lord had for us. But once we got into the book, we knew that God was guiding us in what we still need to be doing today, thousands of years after the prophets spoke these words. Wiersbe always does a great job of helping the reader understand God's Word at a deeper level. Great study!
Mr Wiersbe write on a level that people can understand. I will be buying more of his books. I currently have 4.These are books that I will NOT loan to others... they are priced right so I'll just buy them a copy as a gift.
We are using this as our study guide as we study selected Minor Prophets. As with all other Warren Wiersbe's "Be Series" books they give us background and insight into the Bible as a good commentary.
Great book on some of the minor prophets in the Old Testament. Anything Warren Wiersbe writes is always practical and informative and enables every believer to be encouraged in their walk and gives understanding in a clear and concise way to scripture.
I am always so challenged by Wiersbe's commentaries. Be Heroic is an incredibly deep, power-packed Bible study! I highly recommend it to parents who want to be heroic for our Savior, in our generation, and for our kids!
This is the 23rd book in the "Be Series" that I have used in my Bible studies. So often I have breezed through the minor prophets without digesting how "meaty" they are. Minor is the wrong word to use to label these heroic prophets. Which will be number 24? I am so thankful for this series!
