It was not what I expected. I thought it would conflict with the Holy Scriptures but it does not. It actually backs up the scripture and gives the back story. I do not understand why these books were left out but they should be part of the bible. With this addition to your study you will understand more of God's love and plan for mankind from the very beginning. These books are to be treasured just as the scripture.
I know this comes as a shock to the majority but most but not all, of these collections of books, I have found to be God breathed and actually extra inspired, not uninspired forgeries! These extra holy writings " Hagiographa", as Miles Coverdale so sccurately used of the Apocrypha, also applies to many of these works as well! These crucial words of God have been neglected for too long are so needed in these last days and have been missing out of our bibles from unbelief and need to be restored back into the package that men all decide what to print in exact collections. 1st and 2nd Adam and Eve, The Testament of the Twelve Patriarch's, 2nd Enoch, Nicodemus a.k.a. Acts of Pilate, Epistle of Barnabas, and 1st and 2nd Clement and the letters of Herod and Pilate except for the last two, are the most helpful and useful for God's kingdom. They are the most precious of all of these collected extra inspired works of art and are essential to read and study daily as the rest of scripture, for those of us in the minority of the faithful remnant, who love and trust by faith, into our God YaHshua The Messiah, as God in The Flesh. We must shema Him, who is the word, incarnate and all whom HE sends in His name to preach truth to us and who also bare the same message as HE does, each with variant details of the same events and people in the bible's history.Also read my comment review on 1 Enoch by R. H. Charles which mentions some this content and other useful notes of spiritual truths, long forgotten and undiscovered by most, sadly. I am convinced that there are more inspired books in here than false ones, so I will simply list all of the books that you can cross out and know that they are most likely false and do not pass the heavenly test of the witness of the Holy Spirit nor line up with the rest of the scriptures from my gift of discernment and brain.Works in this packaged collection that should not be included, that my research has indicated, that I am convinced are false and not divinely inspired are: 1st and 2nd Infancy Gospels, The Acts of Paul and Thecla, The Shepherd of Hermes- Visions, Commands and Similitudes, The Trial and Condemnation of Pilate, The Death of Pilate, The Letter of Aristeas, The story of Ahikar. The Apostle's Creed although not inspired most likely, is still good and accurate history and is a valid list for us to use as a guide for basic doctrine to start out with and embrace and live by. The rest of the works in this collection, packaged by men, I am fully convinced is God breathed and is able to make us wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ YaHshua and is always profitable for doctrine, for reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness so that any child of God, may be complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work.(See 2 Timothy 3:15-16) Feel free to fellowship with me if you are are legitimate believer and not a scoffer and are seeking thr full truth and whole counsel of God. This book exceeded my expectations. There was more unknown history of biblical figures, both known and some unknown. The Books of Nicodemus and Barnabus, included in this work, give an insight not found in regular Bibles. The book of Paul and Thecla offers a physical description of St. Paul that cannot be found in regular Bibles, either. For those interested in expanding their knowledge of the Bible and the New Testament, 'The Lost Books of the Bible and Forgotten Books of Eden' is very suitable for your library, and worth your time reading.
this book is pretty much a historical manuscript. If you are a hard corps, charismatic, bible thumping, "if it ain't in the king james version of the Bible!" person.. this book IS NOT for you. If you truly want to study the Bible in a historical context with an understanding of the characters events and themes from a scholars prospective this book would make a good resource to your library
I consider myself a forever student. When I recently began to question so much of what was drilled into me through out my religious education, I was directed to the variety of 'lost books' books. I'm just in the first 75 pages of this, yet have already found it a wealth of information. I highly recommend to anyone studying or interested in theological study. I'm not even a Christian anymore and I find this very interesting.

This is worth owning if only for the book of Nicodemus. This book is ok but far from a total comprehensive collection of books not included in the bible. However a good addition to the library.
This is a convenient, inexpensive edition containing a well-chosen compact selection of alt books for anyone interested in this topic. The collection is also notable for the translations being arranged into chapters and verses and rendered in the KJV style. The translations were done by a leading biblical scholar of the early 20th century. Recommended.
